Sociedad Deportiva Huesca launched its women's teams during the 2017-2018 season, with the aim of promoting an educational model based on healthy lifestyles by developing values of community, sportsmanship, and companionship. To give visibility to women's football, in its first year of operation it had two teams: one in the Territorial League of Aragon and another in the U-10 category, which competed in the Scholastic Games.

For the 2018-2019 season, SD Huesca reaffirmed its commitment to the development of women's football by reinforcing its structure - in addition to Azucena Garanto's management, Verónica Rodríguez joined the club's sports coordination department - and set up 4 teams: U-10, U-12 and two teams in the Territorial League of Aragon (reserve and first team) to support the training work in the lower categories and to develop the talent of promising young players.

Following a very good first season by the first team - two points from the promotion play-offs and a finalist in the Territorial Cup of Aragon -, the second season saw the first major sporting milestone: promotion to the National First Division after remaining unbeaten throughout the 2018-2019 season, including the promotion play-offs. This early achievement, the result of hard work by players and club, was a further step towards the professionalisation of the structure of women's football.

In the 2019-2020 season, the women's section already had 6 teams (First Team, Reserve, U-14, U-12, and two U-10 in the scholastic games); almost 100 girls within only 2 years of the project's inception.
