Comeback to return to the path of victory against Girona FC

SD Huesca comes back in the second half and manages to win the three points for the first time this year

Nine games later, Sociedad Deportiva Huesca found its way to victory. And it did it in a big way, with a comeback in San Jorge against Girona FC (3-1) in an intense second half with a happy ending. Three goals in just over 15 minutes served to turn the scoreboard in a match in which the Girona team finished with 10 players, on matchday 14 of group 3 of Primera Nacional. Two goals by Sara Sanaú and a goal by Totti gave Huesca three points for the first time in 2021. The visit to another rival from the bottom of the table, Palleja CF, is presented as a great opportunity to link two victories in a row.

After an irregular start in which it was difficult to get the ball played from behind due to rival's pressure, the visitors went ahead in the first stages of the match. A lateral center hit Esther with bad luck, who scored at her own goal. Since the goal Huesca managed to equalize the forces, and a tactical adjustment by Verónica Rodríguez helped that, at halftime, the local dominance was evident even without great chances.

The double change in the second period and the entry of Carol and Daiana stirred up the match, and soon a header from Sara Sanaú to Totti's center ended in the tie. The Huesca team did not slacken, they continued pressing and dominating and, as a result of that domination, in the 71st minute Totti put SD Huesca ahead with a shot from outside the area. The opponents were left with one less player, and that numerical superiority was quickly noticed. The third, from Sanaú, was culminated by hitting the head-to-head with the rival goalkeeper. Girona tried to create with a direct free kick that forced Nuria Rodríguez to intervene successfully in the last moments of a duel that finally fell on the Huesca's side.
