Ziganda: “We must improve our performance away from home”

With the objective of improving away from home still alive, Ziganda’s men travel to Eibar “with attitude and spirit,” says the boss

The Azulgranas travel to Ipurua to take on “one of the top teams in the competition.” However, their aim is to improve away from El Alcoraz, so they travel “with attitude and spirit,” told us Cuco Ziganda, who addressed questions from the media this Friday lunchtime.

“I expect a tough game. They play very good football, at a high pace, and rarely lose possession I think they’ve even improved from last campaign. At home they’re very reliable – it’ll be a monumental hurdle,” he stated. And he added: “They’ve got many players from last season as well as interesting signings. You can tell they’ve played together for a while now. They usually grab control of the games by means of their quality players – They’re definitely one of the top teams in the competition.”

“Considering the month we’ve got ahead of us, winning would be grand. It’d give us a boost of happiness,” explained ‘Cuco’. Nonetheless, he is aware that there’s room for improvement: “We would have rather won the other day, but we know that this is a long-distance race. The players have a high morale. Most of them are fit and all of them train very well, we see healthy competition, he concluded.
