SD Huesca secure another victory back at El Alcoraz

The Azulgranas ensured all three points against FC Andorra (1-0) through a Juan Carlos penalty

There's no place like home – and Huesca know it. The Altoaragoneses found one more home victory against FC Andorra, so they’ve been unbeaten at home for nine games in a row. The Azulgranas managed to put the match to bed thanks to a goal from Juan Carlos, who would be sent off later.

The first chance of the first 45 fell to Kanté just a few seconds after the kick-off, as he found himself one-on-one with the Andorra goalkeeper, but the Japanese was unable to beat him. Cuco Ziganda had made six changes from the XI that started the last encounter, with Jerémy Blasco, Kento Hashimoto, Ignasi Vilarrasa, Juan Carlos, Joaquín and Kanté.

The ball went from one area to another in the opening stages, and it was Juan Carlos who called the keeper into action following a nice cross from Joaquín. Andrei also threatened the visitors in a brilliant individual play that finally went wide but very close to the post. Andorra struck back by means of a free-kick taken by Jandro after 36 minutes, which became the most dangerous opportunity for the visitors. Huesca still had time for one more chance before the break, as Joaquín shot from outside the area, but an outstreched Ratti managed to save it.

After the interval, Andorra powered a shot that ended wide, while Ziganda's side enjoyed their best minutes from then on. Juan Carlos shot from distance to test Rutti again. After 54 minutes, SD Huesca were awarded a penalty after a foul on Kanté, which was converted by Juan Carlos. Besides that, it was a second yellow card for Martí Vila, and so the visitors were reduced to ten men. The Oscenses were able to weather the storm of the final minutes, including the 8 of extra time, and managed to pick up three more points in front of our crowd.
