One point to bid farewell to the year 2022

The Azulgranas are held to a draw against Burgos CF (1-1), after having taken the lead by means of Joaquín right before the interval

Signing off with a win at El Plantio was a monumental hurdle for SD Huesca, trying hard to find an away victory. The Azulgranas broke the deadlock just before the interval. However, Burgos managed to level matters just after the break, as both teams opened the second 45 in lively fashion with the play switching constantly from one end of the field to the other. The draw left both sides wanting more, but allowed Huesca to secure one more point away from home.

Cristian registered SD Huesca’s first effort on target when he shot straight into the arms of the keeper. The Oscenses wanted to make it up for last game, so they went out at El Plantio at a ferocious pace. In front of them there was a tough Burgos side. The hosts struck back and tested Andrés with a shot from distance, causing uneasy moments for the Jorge Pulido-led Huesca defence. The Altoaragoneses pressure finally told in stoppage time, when they found space to launch a counter-attack for Joaquín to find the back of the net: SD Huesca took the lead at El Plantio.

Only three minutes after the restart, Burgos hit back to level the scoring up following a free-kick. Back to square one, the hosts were looking to come back and even hit the post twice. Cuco Ziganda searched for a solution from the bench, by introducing Timor, Carrillo and Gerard Valentín, who proved to be fresher up top. Juan Carlos could have scored a second after a nice individual play from Gerard, who crossed it for Carrillo. The defence dispelled the danger, and Juan Carlos received the ball, but he fired off target. That was the perfect way to finish off for Ziganda’s men. Escriche was the last man to be brought on the pitch, replacing Juan Carlos, who had enjoyed the best chances for the Azulgranas. Finally, it ended all square in Burgos in the last game of 2022.
