Ziganda: I am excited and hopeful about this season

The boss is motivated for the first match of the league, which leads his side to Burgos

Pre-seasons are always too short as a coach, willing to try new things and work harder. But the time has come for Cuco Ziganda’s SD Huesca, who will visit Burgos in the debut of the so-called Liga HyperMotion. And so the boss told us, but admitted that he is excited and hopeful about this year’s competition once there are points at stake. “It’s obvious that a coach always wants more time, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t feel the butterflies in our stomach in the first game to see how we are going to perform. We always feel uncertain, since the competition has nothing to do with the pre-season,” stated Ziganda before travelling to Burgos. “I can’t wait to see if we are able to perform on the pitch the way we have trained in pre-season, and see how the new ones have adapted to the group.”

Beyond the technical aspects, the boss assessed the availability and condition of his squad. “I see them well physically. They’re all available except for Rafa Tresaco. However, some of them are short in preparation,” Ziganda regretted.

The Oscenses take on a new Burgos, unpredictable in certain aspects: “We’ve seen them in pre-season, but they’ve tried different things, so those experiments weren’t very reliable. We know the players they’ve signed, they are strengthened, especially up top. They’ve also got a new coach, but we know him. It’s always a tough place to play at, and both sides are spirited and willing to start.”

“We must complete the challenges marked by ourselves: to defend very well and to attack very well too, as well as to know how to control the different moments in the game. We know that our rivals also play their game, and therefore we have to be able to adapt to all different scenarios and try to make our players comfortable, concluded Ziganda.
