Official statement

SD Huesca understands football only as a scene of complete respect for each and every of us who compose it. Therefore, following the extraordinary general assembly called by the RFEF, SD Huesca wishes to express its strong condemnation and rejection regarding the events which took place in the Women’s World Cup final, as well as concerning the statements made during said assembly.

First of all, we must reiterate our congratulations to the Spanish women’s football team on their outstanding World Cup victory, something of which we are extremely proud as a part of the Spanish football that they represented so well. On the contrary, we cannot but condemn the attitude shown by the Spanish football chief during the celebration of the title. We consider it inappropriate for the highest representative of an institution like this one, which comprises so many professionals, towards whom he demonstrated a lack of respect, including the Spanish women's football team players, to whom we reiterate our total admiration and applause.

For our club, behaviours like this do not only constitute a gross lack of professionalism and a serious breach of duty and function derived from his position but are also far from what is expected from someone who is taking an active role in the football that we are all building together today – based on equality and respect.
