The Azulgranas visit Santander trying to see if the feeling is better and to produce a performance at El Sardinero. Aware of the fact that “this has just begun and there’s still a long way to go,” Ziganda is self-critical and commits to working hard in order to get better.
“We have to be able to exercise a little self-criticism and know where to improve. The strength of our side used to come from our rock-solid defence, so we need to get that back. From there we will be able to do other things on the ball. We’ve got new players of a different profile who will help us in this sense. Anyway, we’ll have to start by the first part.” By analysing that, he added: “We’ve questioned everything, we’d like to be relentless but not stubborn – the players have to feel comfortable with what they do and we need to adapt to that.”
The next chance will be this Monday in Santander, against a side that “has taken off very well.” Regarding the upcoming rival, Real Racing Club, the boss told us: “their first home game was magnificent for them, they felt really confident – you couldn’t tell it was their opening match. They’ve kept their squad and coach, they’ve got young players who are going a step further.”
