A. Hidalgo: “This is a long journey, but we’ve always believed”

The SD Huesca coach wants to extend the two-point gap over the relegation zone against a very strong Eldense side at their stadium

The Azulgranas travel to Elda aiming at widening the gap with the lower zone and with the confidence from the last victory at El Alcoraz. This is what the coach stated in his press conference ahead of LaLiga Hypermotion matchday 26. “We know it’s a long journey, but we have always believed. A victory, and the way it happened, is an ecstasy of joy and pride. We have taken a step forward, we have a little margin and we wish to expand it, so we have to keep working and competing, in every stadium,” said Hidalgo.

And with that extra confidence, the coach insists on the importance of staying mentally strong. “We have to know how to handle the situation and its ups and downs, keeping a clear head, knowing that anything can happen. Because the situation is still urgent, we have to keep winning to be more comfortable in the table.”

The next opportunity to achieve this will be this Saturday against CD Eldense, a team “who have been working hard and who know where to press and where to play.” And he added: “we are two solid teams, we will have to be tough, very alert and focused.” Hidalgo knows he needs everyone, and stands united with his team. “I constantly think about the players who participate less, and it's because they all offer us possibilities because of the level and competition they are showing. Their concentration has increased.”

And he insisted once again on the importance of staying mentally strong. “We have to take care of those heads, they have to be willing to tolerate internal competition, and that will take us to another level. Everyone is equally important, whether they play 80 minutes or 20. We need everyone at their best.”
