Xisco: “We want to finish as high as possible in the league”

SD Huesca manager highlights his side’s work and opts for a strong start to the game in their visit to Leganés on Monday (18:30h CEST), in LaLiga SmartBank matchday 38

“The squad are very professional. From the time you’re in action in a Huesca shirt, you need to dig deep for this club. In that sense, I’m pleased with my players. Xisco Muñoz addressed questions from the media this Saturday lunchtime, ahead of SD Huesca’s LaLiga SmartBank match against CD Leganés, and sent an energetic positive message for the final stages of the competition. “We want to finish as high as possible in the league – we’re ambitious. We’re going to perform at the highest level.”

The Majorcan faces the game “plenty of spirit. We need to keep going, try and be as solid as we were in Tenerife and pose a threat in front of the opposition’s goal to secure the three points. I’m proud of my team and I hope we’ll continue to grow,” he added. Xisco believes that both teams at Butarque have a lot at stake: “Every single team has a lot at stake. I’m convinced that Leganés will go out there to play aggressively and I want my team to perform at our best.”

He admits the lack of “regularity” in certain moments of the season, where Huesca have been unable to rise up the league table, but believes that the team are “in good form” right now. “We’ll try to develop our registers until the end; some of the players have significantly evolved. SD Huesca always go out there to win. Seeing them train makes me very proud and pleased,” he concluded.
