Just three days after his last media briefing, following SD Huesca draw against Real Zaragoza, the Majorcan took one more pre-match news conference at the media centre in El Alcoraz, as his side visit Tenerife on Friday (kick-off 21:00 CEST). It’ll be a tough game, but the manager expects his team to “show their best form” at Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium, because it’ll be necessary to secure all three points. “We’ll play there plenty of spirit.”
The boss insisted that his men will continue fighting until the end in the race for a top-six place despite the current positions in the table. “The team have striven not to drop points during the whole season and they’ve grown into de competition, so they won’t let go now, I’m sure about that,” stated Xisco, taking into account that the Altoaragoneses have still their options. “We’re all professional here. We represent a club, a city and a province. We all know that, and that’s why we’ll give our 200%, as usual,” he added.
Nevertheless, he pointed out the difficult trip they face this Friday, since Tenerife still have their chances to earn direct promotion. “It’s a difficult rival, as they work hard and have very balanced players, not only on a tactical but also on an emotional level. We’ll have to be careful and accurate in order to pick up the three points,” he told us about the rival. “At this point, the stakes are high for every single team. It’ll be hard for us to earn points in any stadium.”
“It’s not about the table, but moreover the ambition to continue growing and improving. We must end up the best way we can, because we deserve it. It’s a pity that we didn’t seal some more victories, because I see how much my players work every day.
