SD Huesca put an end to their good run at Heliodoro Rodríguez López and returned from the island empty-handed. Tenerife were much more effective, finding the back of the net twice and making the ball possession of the Azulgranas useless. The team are already thinking of their next game at El Alcoraz in order to switch the focus to getting back to winning ways.
Iván Romero called into action Andrés in the first half, and that was barely the only opportunity for the hosts in the first 45 with Cuco’s men dominating territory and possession. However, they took a while to take advantage of that situation, until a good combination of Andrei and Soko on the right ended with a cross that no-one in blue and red could connect. Before the break, our no.1 saved a low shot too to keep the scores at 0-0.
After the interval, everything started just as it had finished. After 51 minutes, Waldo fired a rocket beyond the reach of goalkeeper Andrés. SD Huesca needed to come back with Escriche up top, who had replaced Kevin Carlos in the 46th, and Joaquín, who had substituted Soko in the 62nd. Ziganda’s side dominated the possession stakes in the opposition’s half, but were unable to find a final cross to create real danger. Enzo Lombardo and Juan Villar were the last changes of Cuco’s, but far from that, Tenerife found theirs in a lofted through pass, and Teto doubled the advantage 10 minutes from time. The Azulgranas strived to cut the deficit, and Timor shot from distance but the team ultimately fell 2-0.
