NACHO AMBRIZ: “I GET TO SEE A SPARK IN THE TEAM”

The boss said his team are confident enough to beat Girona this weekend

After the draw in La Romareda, SD Huesca faces Girona next Saturday 16th October (kick-off 4 p.m.), confident and willing to earn the three points. “We would have preferred to win that game, but the team are more confident now. We raised our intensity,” said the manager, explaining his feelings after the last training session this Friday in Pirámide and before the journey to Girona. “The team are alive, confident and show me that their performance is going to be flawless no matter the starting XI. We’ll recover the good football displayed in the beginning of the season, it has to be a perfect performance against a team that play football amazingly,” he added, stating that he gets to see “a spark in the team.”

The last encounter ended with several players injured. Therefore, Nacho Ambriz is “forced to think about a plan A and a plan B”, even if both of them are equally reliable. He also bears in mind the midweek clash with Malaga next Tuesday.

The Mexican mentioned the rival team, Girona CF, emphasising how dangerous they are despite their not so good start in the competition. “Their results are not the best, but they have a lot of mobility from the midfield players getting forward. It’s a very competitive squad who easily create fruitful opportunities from set-pieces. They have more than enough resources for any kind of situation,” he said.

“When I happen to face a coach like Míchel, who likes football as much as I do, I try to get into his head and think about how he’d fit the pieces together. It’ll be a tough match, their midfielders are great, and so we have to be ready and display all our qualities in order to come back home with a good result,” he concluded.
