“The leader visit us, and they haven’t lost in league yet. We’ll have to produce an excellent performance if we want to get a result. We have a very big test on Saturday,” said Cuco Ziganda, addressing questions from the media this Friday lunchtime, ahead of SD Huesca’s LaLiga SmartBank match against UD Las Palmas.
“Las Palmas have been fit and in a good dynamic since the beginning of the season. Besides, they are balanced and have an attractive playing style,” added Cuco, praising the rival. “We’ll have to be strong and make them uncomfortable on the ball, as it’s always hard to win it back from them. Their quality players are very technical and enjoy on the ball. I think Las Palmas are the most balanced side in LaLiga SmartBank right now – they concede few goals and they’re regular,”he explained.
When asked about the type of match he expects and the style of each team, Ziganda answered: “none of them are good or bad – they’re just different. I tend to be respectful of every proposal and any footballing philosophy. There are some bosses who envisage an ideal side whereas others prefer to adapt to their squad. Naturally, our proposal is different, and we have to adapt and take advantage of our strengths.”
Also, the manager expressed that he’d like his men to “be able to adapt to the game, no matter what it turns out to be”, as he is aware that there is always room to improve. And he concluded: “we still need to go one step further and to internalise some aspects, especially in attack, in order to be more balanced. I know that we can improve – and we definitely will.”
