SD Huesca are defeated from the penalty spot

SD Huesca deserved better at El Toralín, but suffered a 1-0 defeat against SD Ponferradina after a penalty kick at the early stages

SD Huesca were condemned to a defeat at El Toralín from the penalty spot, ending their good streak of results. A penalty was awarded to the hosts after 10 minutes, making Ziganda's men row upstream. Although the team recovered and were composed, putting the best version of themselves out, Ponferradina repelled the danger time after time.

After just 10 minutes, the referee pointed to the spot after Paris Adot fell in front of Escriche. Referee Trujillo Suárez took three minutes to deliberate, as there was a potential handball from a Ponferradina player. Andrés found out the direction of Yuri's shot, but was unable to block it. The goal was the icing on the cake after the opening minutes, when Ponferradina had been more direct than the visitors. However, the goal spurred the Azulgranas, who struggled to find a final cross to create real danger. In the meantime, Ponfe looked to find a good chance on the counter-attack. The best one of the first 45 for the Oscenses was a nice play by Pulido, who crossed to the right, where Soko combined with Andrei for Escriche's header.

Cuco Ziganda made some changes after the break, bringing on Cristian Salvador, Marc Mateu, Juan Carlos Real and Carrillo. The clearest chance fell after a finish from Juan Carlos, who enjoyed a double chance. He was first denied by the keeper, and the rebound was struck by Soko, but it was repelled by the defence. SD Huesca tried for some minutes to call Makaridze into action, firstly by means of a corner taken by Marc Mateu, who directed it towards the goal, and then he caught the clearance and crossed  the ball for Soko to shoot from the far post. The Altoaragoneses were the better in the late exchanges, thanks to Marc Mateu's inch-perfect crosses, making El Toralín crowd very nervous. Ponferradina caught their breath until the 94th, but the score eventually ended 1-0.
