Ziganda: “We’ll compete one on one with them”

“It’s going to be a tough game, but also a beautiful one anyone wants to play,” stated the SD Huesca manager

Cuco Ziganda feels confident after the last two victories but is aware that the game next Sunday will be “tough.” “Alavés is a clear candidate to finish up in the league table because of their squad, their start to the season and because they’re getting things right. It will be a hard encounter, but we also have our own weapons. We’re training hard, we’re all committed and ready to play any game. We’ll fight and compete one on one with them,” told us the boss ahead of his side’s clash on matchday 6.

Ziganda is pleased with his men’s work and progress, and he assures that almost all of them are available, which poses a “nice problem” for him. “The substitutes in the previous clashes have increased the pace of the game – they’re all up to scratch. I’m happy because I can see that all of them are very close to an impressive level, and we can tell by the quality in the training, the competitiveness and the good atmosphere we enjoy,” he explained.

“We aim to be a rock-solid team, to stay compact – we wouldn’t like to concede much. It’s vital, as that way you never get out of the match. Besides, we’ve scored in the last games. If we keep on our strength in defence and the same good mentality, we’ll have a lot of chances to get things right. And from there we can always grow,”  ‘Cuco’ pursued.

The travelling away support will be well behind the Azulgranas in Vitoria. The manager added: “Fans are always the most important thing. They support us despite the cold and the heat, and they suffer and enjoy at the same time. We have to be respectful and try and represent them the best way we can. I wish we are able to offer them a great match at Mendizorroza, it’s our pleasure to have them in Vitoria with us,he concluded.
