Andrei Ratiu has been recalled in the Romania squad

The Azulgrana has been called up for international duty to play the games on September 23rd and 26th for the UEFA Nations League

Andrei Ratiu has been named in the Romania squad at senior level for the next two fixtures of the UEFA Nations League. The SD Huesca player will face Finland (next Friday, 23rd September in Helsinki) and Bosnia (next Monday, 26th in Bucharest). Therefore, he won’t be available for Ziganda on LaLiga SmartBank matchday 7, when the Leganés side visit El Alcoraz (24th September).

Ratiu has been virtually ever-present in Romania’s squad since he arrived at Huesca, after he made his debut one year ago, in September 2021 against Iceland. Since then, he has been appointed in every international clash, including the UEFA Nations League, which began last June, adapting the calendar to the competition in Qatar next winter.

After the opening four encounters in June, when Ratiu already took part of the squad, now it’s time to play the two remaining. The tournament consists of three leagues of 16 teams each and a fourth of seven, the make-up decided by promotions and relegations from that second running. Romania are set to face Bosnia and Herzegovina, Finland and Montenegro in League B Group B3 of the competition. In the games played in June, Ratiu’s national team could only beat Finland.
