Xisco: “We need to show ambition from minute one”

The SD Huesca boss appealed to courage to achieve a turnaround against CD Mirandés. “I’m convinced that we’ll find the turning point”

Xisco Muñoz finds it vital to have ambition to win and to play enthusiastically next Sunday at El Alcoraz. During SD Huesca’s pre-match press conference on the eve of our LaLiga SmartBank clash CD Mirandés, the manager appealed to the players’ intensity to end the poor run in LaLiga SmartBank. “I’d like to feel their strength and ambition since the very beginning. I want them to give their all for this game. That’s what we must convey from the moment we go out there,” stated the Majorcan, when he was asked about the keys to pick up the three points at home.

“We’ll be bolder and go after them – we’ll go further in all the duels. It’s time to be brave and make the most of every single minute,” assured Xisco Muñoz. “We’re capable of setting the pace ourselves from minute one, we shouldn’t let our rival set it for us,” he added.

In addition, the Azulgranas coach considers that one of the keys to improve the attacking play is that the team become more incisive. However, he pointed out that, statistically, the Oscenses are among the three teams that shoot the most on target: “We’re very solid in defence, as well as in the midfield; we have to improve our performance in the opposition's half.”

Also, Xisco told us about our rival on Sunday: “It’s a team that prepare the encounters very well and they have a very good style of play,” he explained. “CD Mirandés are accurate in attack, but they concede a lot, too. They’re the opposite to us – we lack precision. We’ll try and find that balance.”

Xisco ended by assessing the winter transfer window, as this weekend he can start any of the five new recent signings for the first time: “Since we have more players, we now have more registers. Nevertheless, this is about the 25 players of the squad together with the staff – it’s not just about the five new ones. Anyway, I’m sure something will click and make us turn around the situation.”
