SD Huesca fought at all costs and equalised a very tough game coming from three down from the 28th against Real Oviedo at Carlos Tartiere. Thanks to our faith, our honour and the best example of what never giving up is like, the Altoaragoneses made it to rub out the rival’s lead in an exciting second half, with goals from Poveda, Seoane and Miquel (3-3). SD Huesca secured a valuable point in LaLiga SmartBank matchday 27, proving to be able to step in the right direction.
The Azulgranas were left too early with an uphill battle to get something out of the game against resolute opponents. Just four minutes after the kick-off, Bastón put the hosts ahead by netting a rebound from the keeper. Xisco’s side wanted to react in the 18th, by means of a free-kick from the side taken by Marc Mateu that Poveda touched at the far post but no-one could finish off. However, Obeng doubled the advantage only four minutes later, with a sensational scissor kick, which was the second shot on target of the clash. Huesca dominated possession, but the rival hurt the most, mainly by means of a series of crosses from the flank that threatened Andrés’s goal. Shortly before the half-hour mark, came the painful third goal, a stunning strike by Isaac from the edge of the area that went out of reach of Andrés. The Oscenses were close to concede a fourth due to bad luck, after a shot from Viti that ricocheted towards goal off Timor and hit the bar. Despite all the blows, Huesca never gave up, looking to cut the deficit. Darío Poveda finally made it by means of a perfectly executed set-piece following a corner. The goal spurred Xisco’s men, who ended the first half virtually camping in and around the opponent’s box, with a couple of clear goal chances: a shot from Seoane, tackled as he pulled the trigger, and a header from Ignasi Miquel that went wide.
Huesca made a strong start to the second half, aiming at scoring as soon as possible in order to reach the following minutes alive. Right after the interval, the Azulgranas came very close, but were denied by the local keeper. Timor powered a fast shot from outside the home side’s area and Seoane struck Femenías’s rebound, but the shotstopper pulled off a miraculous save. In the 56th, it was our no.20 again who produced this rocket to make it 3-2, with a lot of minutes still to play. The Oscenses imposed themselves on the game, were ambitious and fought every single duel for the equaliser. Miquel was close in a counter-attack he could not finish off properly. Nevertheless, it was him who netted the 3-3: The defender took a sloppy ball inside the box after it had been cleared by Oviedo’s defence and hammered in SD Huesca’s equaliser. Unbelievable. After that, the last minutes were tight and tense, as the score was uncertain and all the efforts made during the 90 minutes were still to decide. Finally, the score remained 3-3 and SD Huesca proved that we never ever give up.
