Xisco Muñoz: “It’s time to bang the table”

SD Huesca manager talked about “keeping calm and being ambitious” in order to beat Real Oviedo and maintain a two victory streak.

In our away game, SD Huesca envisage making a turning point of the triumph against CD Mirandés in order to begin a positive run towards our goals, as Xisco Muñoz assured during his pre-match interview ahead of the trip to Oviedo in LaLiga SmartBank. “It’s a very important match for us. We’ve been there sometimes too, but have not been able to bang our fist on the table. We need to keep calm and to be ambitious enough to make it there, said the Azulgranas’ boss.

That’s what the team have had in mind during this week. “I’m very happy with them. We’re on the right path. I’m pleased to see them train, not only the boys who played the other day but also those I couldn’t play. They’ve set an example, too. We’ve got a great group to work with and a very beautiful clash to come,” added Xisco, stressing the “confidence” the points would provide us in return of our work.

“We need a strong start to the game. The team is ready – we can’t wait to play again. We also need to lift our confidence to believe that we can,” he stated.

The Majorcan will have to replace Pulido, ruled out of the trip due to injury, and Florian, who is to serve a suspension. Nevertheless, Xisco declares that this is something he is not worried about. “All of them can play. I’m not happy about having those players ruled out, and even less if they’re injured, but we have to keep going. We all need to work, and those who replace them on the pitch must make sure that their performances are up to scratch. We’re ready to do so,” he considered.

Regarding our rival, he emphasised how hard they are, especially when he was asked about Borja Bastón. “He’s a great player, and it’s obvious that this encounter will be hard, but we are very hopeful and excited about it. I see a very bright squad, strengthened by the victory the other day. It’s time to go forward.”
