SD Huesca’s new manager faces his first game willing to prove the strength of the team. “It’s important to perform a good start and that our crowd bring us forward. Tomorrow we all have to push and encourage the lads and they have to answer from the pitch. It’s a nice moment to step forward and be brave,” said manager in pre-Amorebieta press conference.
In his words, we are going to face a “combative” team. “We’ll have to be aggressive; we know what we’ll find in front of us. I expect a keenly contested encounter, rather even and intense. We’ll have to be fully aware of the different aspects of the game,” explained the boss.
He knows that the road is long and hard. Therefore, he added “it is also time to make mistakes – and we will – and we have to be mature enough to refresh ideas, amend and move forward.”
Nevertheless, Muñoz asks his boys to bear in mind to “enjoy” above all. “I’ve told them that they’re in the right city and the perfect club to do so. On the one hand, they have the gaming capacity, on the other hand, there are good players and finally, we have our people’s support. We all have a challenge for improvement, we need to get out of our comfort zone,” he said.
Xisco Muñoz has also provided his reaction to his first two days as an Azulgrana coach: “It is important that they know where they come from, how they are and not to fix anything that isn’t broken. The team have to find the balance, I like what I see – they have a positive attitude.”
With three games in seven days, it is important to keep in good shape, but he is not concerned about physical aspects. “I’m not worried about the physical level, we’ll go game after game, as the squad are ready to rotate. I know this is my first XI too, I may be wrong, but all the players have to prove now that they must be in the starting line-up.”
And he ended “there is no player better than the others here, we want to see their values, effort and sacrifice. They can all champ at the bit for a chance since the competition is so long and we need them all.”
