The first away victory of the campaign awaited us in the trip to Tartiere stadium. One goal from Carillo was enough to take a valuable three points away from Oviedo, in an impressive venue which was Cuco’s home during the last three seasons. Our manager had the measure of his former side, and played for high stakes since the very beginning, boosting his players’ morale and securing important points in a busy week with three clashes.

Ziganda made four changes from the XI that started the last game – just three days ago. Ignasi Vilarrasa, who started from the first time, Cristian Salvador and the Academy-produced youngster Manu Rico, together with Kento Hashimoto, were the new players of his side at Carlos Tartiere. Several rotations, but the same idea as usual to try and fight for a first away triumph. The Azulgranas left the hosts feel important in the opening exchanges, and Andrés Fernández wonderfully denied Hugo Rama after 15 minutes, when he tried to thump the ball into the top left corner. Oviedo were pushing on as the Oscenses looked to find Gerard Valentín’s bright spark, but ultimately his crosses didn’t find any of his teammates. Just before the interval, Andrés proved to be decisive again, parrying away Obeng’s header to head into the tunnel at half-time with the score 0-0.

After the break, Cuco introduced Juan Carlos for Manu Rico, who had been booked. Showing good composure, the visitors paused and then had their chances. It was certainly a more encouraging spell from Huesca and 10 minutes into the half, the Azulgranas got the reward when Gerard Valentín found Carrillo with a lovely pass as he reached the byline. The latter simply tapped it in with a precise finish under the keeper’s legs to make it 1-0. Particularly keen to keep the lead, Ziganda sent Tomeo and Kanté on, adding renewed pace and energy to his men. However, it was Pulido who came closer to double the advantage following a free-kick taken by Marc Mateu in the 68th. Oviedo reacted through Obeng, with a shot from the centre of the box that went wide, and Javi Mier, who fired a rocket from distance. Timor and Soko were the last men to enter the pitch for the Altoaragoneses, securing a brilliant result that sent the Huesca fans who had travelled to Oviedo into ecstasy.
