SD HUESCA FAIL TO OVERCOME CD TENERIFE IN EL ALCORAZ

The away team come from one down after Joaquín’s opener by netting in each half, preventing the Azulgranas from elevating our place in the table in matchday 8 of LaLiga SmartBank (1-2)

SD Huesca was defeated by CD Tenerife, who came from one down after Joaquín Muñoz’s goal, following an encounter in El Alcoraz marked by the end of capacity restrictions and the stadium back with a full crowd (1-2.) Visiting Corredera and Shashoua turned things around in the game corresponding to matchday 8 of LaLiga SmartBank, putting an end to our three out of six points streak. After the home goal, the sides were tied 1-1 too soon, and Huesca could not have the last laugh after the second goal against. Next date: the derby VS Real Zaragoza in La Romareda.

The game began even, with few opportunities in both boxes and a few interruptions that avoided a greater rhythm on the pitch. With Joaquín being the only new face in our first XI, Huesca had more initiative than the rival. After some minutes without chances, it was not until the 25th when a goal was ruled out due to offside from Jorge Pulido, who had headed the ball after a free-kick. Shortly after, it was Joaquín himself who scored the opener: he won the ball in the opponent’s half, touched it until the box and finished with aplomb past Juan Soriano to score his second goal of the season. But the celebrations were extremely short-lived and Corredera hit back for CD Tenerife almost immediately after. This meant total effectiveness on shots on target for both teams. Immediately before the half-time, the Azulgranas were close to lead the scoring again. It was after a side pass and Escriche’s diving header that Soriano brilliantly palmed away and Pitta could not net the rebound, shooting straight at the rival keeper.

Nacho Ambriz reacted with a double half-time substitution, Florian Miguel and Pedro Mosquera went out the pitch replacing Nwakali and Juan Carlos. Marc Mateu played more forward, taking some centres and sprinting towards the opposite box. The 55th, however, was like a punch in the stomach: CD Tenerife scored their second goal following their pressing on Huesca’s defence, which ended up with the ball owned by Aitor Sanz. He passed it to Shashoua, who did not hesitate. The game plan changed after the second goal, and Tenerife closed lines while the Oscenses were fighting to find the equaliser or even more. Miguel was close when the ball landed at his feet after a corner kick, but he then gave up the chance. Escriche’s header was also very near to find the goal. As the minutes went by, the tension of the outing went higher and higher. Gaich came out instead of Joaquín to increase the Azulgrana offensive arsenal, and ten minutes before the final whistle Buffarini and Lombardo came out too. Andrés Fernández saved one of the few chances for the Chicharreros. Full of heart, Huesca attacked trying to get at least one point, but it just did not happen.
