Ignasi Miquel was the last player to join SD Huesca before the transfer deadline and this Thursday he was the star in the press room at El Alcoraz, in his presentation as an Azulgrana. "I am happy just to be here, and hopefully we will gain promotion. Because I am looking for stability and I think this is the perfect place for me,” said the centre-half, showing his excitement in anticipating a great season. “I was sure that, if I left Getafe, the was the place.”

“I am eager to contribute, to give everything I have. Looking for both stability in football and personally. I want to put down roots in my life here. I am very eager and I want to help from day one,” he insisted.

He has only completed two training sessions with the team, only one with the group, but Ignasi Miquel said he was “ready to fight” from day one, after completing the full preseason with the Getafe. "My mindset is to adapt as soon as possible. I am physically ready for whatever it takes, the rest depends on the coach.”

He also specifically referred to Nacho Ambriz, assuring that his first contact with the coach could not have gone better. He seemed to me to be personable, open to footballers. My first impression was spectacular, and the references of teammates very very good.”

The mentality he has perceived in the dressing room was also something that SD Huesca's new defender praised: “I have gained a lot of experience in squads to know when it is time to enjoy a victory and when to focus on working. I think it's a balanced squad, very smart and ambitious.” A fighting character that, he assured, he also noticed in the last match, despite the defeat. “You could see the mentality of continuing to drive on and push. And that's vital."
