SD Huesca is delighted to confirm the signing of Gerard Valentín (Avinyonet de Puigventós, Girona, 1993). He’ll add his speed and power to the right wing, making the difference in our games until June 2026. Having considered moving not only to other LaLiga SmartBank squads but also to some LaLiga Santander (Primera División) teams – where he made his debut with RC Deportivo La Coruña –, he finally joins SD Huesca, taking the challenge of providing Xisco’s right flank with his numerous qualities.
Our new signing comes to El Alcoraz having improved at CD Lugo, where he had been one of the pillars of the squad since he arrived in the 2018 winter transfer window on loan from RC Deportivo La Coruña. Due to his good performances, he finally agreed a contract with CD Lugo, displaying his development in every game during the last three seasons. He can go forward, from a right-back position into the right wing, where he makes the most of his decisive qualities. Actually, his appearances where key for CD Lugo to remain in the category last season, as he netted a very valuable brace against Cartagena.
Gerard Valentín has shown his offensive capabilities since the beginning of his professional career at Nàstic Tarragona, in 2014. He had played earlier for UE Olot and begun his youth career at Girona CF and Sevilla CF. He moved to Deportivo La Coruña from Nàstic in 2017/2018, making his Primera División debut.
Gerard joins SD Huesca in order to progress and contribute to the club’s interests. He guarantees commitment and intensity, apart from directness, speed and power, not to mention the accuracy in the crosses towards the box. Hopefully, he’ll make the difference and delight El Alcoraz. Welcome, Gerard!
