SD Huesca and Pau FC join forces through a partnership agreement. The agreement between the club from the Alto Aragon and the French one, which play in Ligue 2, seeks to go beyond the professional sports level, turning the entities into socio-economic drivers on both sides of the Pyrenees.
The agreement reached is based not only on the sports pillar, since it also aims at strengthening historical bonds and fostering the Huesca-Pau relationship, turning the two entities into socio-economic drivers on both sides of the Pyrenees. Although this agreement was concluded back on May 3 during the visit of an SD Huesca delegation to Pau, we had been working on it over a year. Also, the foundations to create new projects in order to generate a stimulus in both areas were laid in during such visit with the various departments concerned of the Pau City Council and the local government (Pau Béarn Pyrénées).
The first steps of this agreement have already been taken, namely the visit of a Pau FC delegation to El Alcoraz and a friendly match between SD Huesca B and Pau FC B last May 16 at our stadium. Besides, work is already under way on the design of the ‘Copa Pirineos’, a sports event with rotating venues that will take place at the beginning of the next season.
Therefore, SD Huesca has a new international partner. In this case, we have found co-operation across the national borders with the club of Béarn, which is only a hundred miles away.
