SD Huesca travel to Almeria on Friday afternoon following a week involving a great deal of “physical and mental effort,” as the coach said to the media on the eve of our LaLiga game in Juegos del Mediterráneo Stadium next Saturday, kick-off 6:15 p.m. (GMT+1.) The manager is aware of the difficulty of playing away against LaLiga SmartBank leader, but highlights his squad’s progression to acquire the concepts that the new coaching staff would like to teach. Xisco believes that “they have begun to materialise”.
“The rival will force us to be very careful. They have a wide range of registers and individual skills, too. It’s a tough team against whom we have to produce an excellent performance and reach a very good level,” he added. “Every game in this category is hard-fought and tight. We’ll have our moment either to win it or to be defeated, that’s the way it is. We’ll struggle, since Almeria are in an excellent shape and their registers are advanced.”
Other than the rival’s impressive stats, SD Huesca manager wanted to draw attention to his team’s work and their clear improvement: “We keep on growing and working to perform at the highest level and at our best. Nevertheless, we need to continue working in order to face these teams that have a clear vision of football”, he said by highlighting the improvements in defence. “If the team defend well, we are more dangerous forward and more of our players can sprint to the rival’s half. I appreciate very much the good job we did the other day, since we could see that we are growing. We need to move forward by means of effort, help and sacrifice.
“We’re conveying a complex idea in a very short period of time, so it’s not easy for the players to acquire it just like that. I remember what I said in my first days here about how I had a very sharp squad that were grasping the ideas very quickly, and that helps us,” he ended.
