XISCO: “THE TEAM AND OUR FANS DESERVE THINGS TO WORK OUT FOR US”

SD Huesca boss highlights how the team “are willing to play and training hard ahead of” the home match against UD Ibiza in El Alcoraz

“I can’t wait,” that is what Xisco Muñoz answered when he was asked about how he faces Sunday’s home match against UD Ibiza in El Alcoraz, kick-off 6:15 p.m. (GMT+1.) The victory against CD Mirandés made the Azulgranas rebuild confidence and meant a boost of energy for the fans, too. The squad hope they will be able to repeat the positive result also at home, where SD Huesca recent results have not quite been what the group had set out for. “We want to turn around the situation by finding the balance as hosts as well as visitors. When we play away, we are a promotion play-off team whereas at home we seem a relegation-threatened club. We’re trying to find the balance and become strong also at home. SD Huesca always have, and we’re going to get that back, pointed out the Majorcan on the eve of our LaLiga encounter against UD Ibiza.

“The players are working incredibly hard, hopefully everything will turn out well, because we deserve it – and so do the players and the supporters. We deserve to face tomorrow’s game with spirit, as the team will have a good performance and will win,” he added, referring to the fans’ trip to Miranda for our previous clash. Xisco is keen to emphasise the fans’ importance for SD Huesca, especially in busy periods like these weeks. “I fully understand what our supporters may think, and I can only ask them to understand the timing. We are going to try our best to make it from the inside. However, I’m sure there will be tough times where they will lift our spirits, too.”

The Azulgranas boss also mentioned UD Ibiza and described their qualities: “It’s a difficult rival, they’re tough, intense, and have a clear vision of football and good principles. Their manager has done a phenomenal job, and I’m sure that Sunday’s clash will be even, like all games in this category,” he ended.
