Wakatake and SD Huesca will associate for one more year

A group of young Japanese players will arrive in Huesca to understand first hand SD Huesca’s working methodology

SD Huesca and Fundación Alcoraz renewed their partnership with Wakatake Group. After three years, the club will pursue with this international sports program, which helps young Japanese players to know Spanish football first hand. Again, a group of Japanese boys born between 2004 and 2011 will live a unique experience in Huesca. During the next two months, they will get to know the youth club’s methodology, the Spanish culture and Huesca’s lifestyle, on the occasion of the new opening of the football school facilities in Huesca (Base Aragonesa de Fútbol). “We need to continue this association with Wakatake. We’re thrilled to sign again with them. We’d like that the Japanese become integrated and understand our methodology,” told us Juanjo Camacho, responsible for Strategic Project Management at the Fundación Alcoraz.

The Japanese group is also pleased to pursue with the association: We’re surprised by SD Huesca every year. There’s been an amazing bond since the beginning. We even managed to carry out an immersion program during the pandemic. This year will be exciting as well, thanks to the residence and the new sports city,” related David Rosales, responsible for international projects in Wakatake Group.

The kids will have the chance to do some activities related to football, including organised training sessions with the different SD Huesca under teams at San Jorge. Besides, they will be involved in Spanish cultural and recreation activities, too, such as guided tours in Huesca city and its province. Of course, they will go to school in our city during the school year. Mr Rosales has also pointed out the importance of our club: “The opportunity to learn from the inside of a team like SD Huesca, at the forefront of professional football, is wonderful. This exchange Japan-Spain gives them the possibility to live with the youth team players on a daily basis and share the experience with kids their age who share their dream.”
