Ratiu is set to be involved in the summer’s UEFA Nations League

The Azulgrana has been selected in advance of four games in June, and will miss our away encounter against Real Valladolid

Andrei Ratiu has been named in the Romania squad at senior level for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures. The third edition of this international competition will kick off in June 2022 with the Finals scheduled for the same month a year later. Edi Iordanescu, manager of the Romanian national team, has called up the SD Huesca player for the clashes against Montenegro (away on 4 June, 20:45h CEST at Gradski Stadion, Podgorica city, and home on 14 June, 20:45h CEST at Giulesti Stadium, Bucharest), Bosnia and Herzegovina (away on 7 June, 20:45h CEST at Stadion Bilino Polje, Zenica) and Finland (home, on 14 June 20:45h CEST again in Bucharest).

The competition will consist of three leagues of 16 teams each and a fourth of seven, the make-up decided by promotions and relegations from that second running. Romania are set to face Bosnia and Herzegovina, Finland and Montenegro in League B Group B3 of the competition. Four of the six matchdays will be in June due to the winter scheduling of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Ratiu’s international appointment will make him miss LaLiga SmartBank matchday 42, this Sunday against Real Valladolid at Nuevo José Zorrilla (20:00h CEST).
