NACHO AMBRIZ: "WE NEED TO LET GO AND PLAY PLENTY OF SPIRIT"

The Azulgrana manager is convinced that the team “will play a good game” tomorrow and underlines the “commitment and spirit” of his players

Nacho Ambriz is convinced that the team will play a good game and perform well tomorrow in Saint Sebastian. Even if he understands the concern, he sees very motivated and excited players, who are aware that there are aspects still to improve.

“I understand the concern, things have not turned out the way we wanted and the team are not now as we started. Besides, we haven’t played with good feelings. That actually worries me, I’ve spotted where we were wrong and how we have to improve. We’re now working on that,” stated the Azulgrana manager.

And he added: “we should take it easy, fine-tune the details and help the team understand better what we want. I always prepare the team with a view to winning, but results make us retouch certain aspects as we go.”

He also explained that it is important to work on the mental edge: “I’ve told them that they have to enjoy playing football. When the results are not there, things on the pitch don’t turn out the way you want, and they’re a bit tense. That’s why I ask them to enjoy themselves and keep calm, otherwise things come to a halt. We need to let go and play plenty of spirit, and above all, to dare”.

And Nacho is confident to achieve it and also that “things are going to change.” “The enthusiasm that I brought here has not vanished, I am still willing to do things right, and I haven’t hesitated for one moment. We will move on by working hard, I’m sure of that as I see the players’ commitment and the great vibe around us,” he pursued.

He also states that he is confident as he sees “the team’s disposition every day. They’re not happy with the results and are aware of what they have to improve.”

Regarding the team SD Huesca will face in Reale Arena, the manager says that “it is a different rival.” “It is a young team that play without any pressure. Their manager does a great job since they are self-confident and play at ease, which makes them a very hard rival”, Ambriz concluded.
