David Timor (Carcaixent, 1989) rejoins Sociedad Deportiva Huesca. His contract had expired at Getafe and he has moved to El Alcoraz on a free transfer. The midfielder has agreed a contract until June 2024, with the option for a further year. With nearly 150 appearances in LaLiga Santander and many others in LaLiga SmartBank, Timor is a quality player in Spain who will bring balance and composure to the midfield. SD Huesca adds a different profile to the squad not only for this vital time of the competition but also for upcoming seasons. After having spent the last three years at Getafe CF and tempted by different Spanish clubs, he will finally be wearing SD Huesca jersey.
Timor began his youth career at Valencia CF and reached its second team, who were promoted to Segunda División B in 2008. Two years later, he switched from there to Osasuna Promesas and then to Osasuna, making his first-team debut in LaLiga Santander in 2011 under Mendilíbar. Timor was certain to start the majority of games in El Sadar and after 50 appearances in LaLiga Santander, he spent a season on loan at LaLiga SmartBank Girona FC. Due to his impressive qualities, he caught Real Valladolid’s eye, and played the promotion play-off from LaLiga SmartBank. From there, he went a step further and signed for CD Leganés, where the team gained promotion to LaLiga Santander. The Madrilenian side eventually stayed in the category at the end of the season, and Timor lived his second spell at Girona FC, who had just secured promotion, logging 19 appearances, after which UD Las Palmas gave him a call. Virtually ever-present in the starting line-up, Getafe’s manager Bordalás decided to recruit him for his side in 2019, when they were playing Europa League. Best went on during the next two seasons to make a further 70 appearances for the Madrilenian team.
The new SD Huesca signing is a defensive midfielder who can destroy the rival’s opportunities to attack us, but who has an eye for goal too and a sublime touch – he also dominates the art of set-pieces. He can also play as a centre-back, thanks to his experience, strength and reading of the game. He is undoubtedly a quality player for any squad seeking for balance, versatility and intensity.
