Santo Domingo was hiding a victory for Cuco Ziganda’s men, turning all the efforts of this start to the season into reality. Loureiro and Obeng put the Oscenses in front with their first-half goals, which would eventually turn out to be the final score.
It was Loureiro from a set-piece who broke the deadlock for SD Huesca, putting the visitors ahead in Madrid. The Azulgranas’ centre-back – together with Jorge Pulido – rose high inside the penalty area to connect the free-kick take by Oscar Sielva only after 21 minutes. Until then, Ziganda’s side had created more danger, but Alcorcon had also tested Alvaro Fernandez, who denied Addai only for the ball to almost hit the post. Loureiro had already converted the first one when Samu Obeng scored his first one of the season. Hugo Vallejo found space to launch an inch-perfect counter-attack, and played a clever through-ball into the space ahead of Obeng, who deposited a brilliant finish past the keeper to make it 0-2. Inevitably, the score spurred the hosts, who were looking to earn their first home victory of the campaign. And so they won metres and found the back of the net in the 33rd only for the referee to rule it out for a foul on Ivan Martos.
After the break, the Madrilenians looked to overturn Loureiro’s and Obeng’s goals, but SD Huesca defended their advantage fiercely. Samu Obeng was replaced by Kento Hashimoto, trying to concede as little as possible. Kante became the reference in attack, and he had a good chance but his shot went wide after a cross from Hugo Vallejo. Jeremy Blasco and Joaquin entered the pitch, replacing exhausted Hugo Vallejo and Javi Mier. An outstretched Alvaro saved his side once again to deny the hosts and confirm the 0-2 on the score.
