EL ALCORAZ SMILE AGAIN IN A REMARKABLE MATCH AGAINST REAL VALLADOLID

Amazing victory for the Azulgranas, who took the lead since the beginning and finally won in El Alcoraz thanks the goals of Gaich, Miquel and Seoane (3-2)

Amazing victory for SD Huesca over one of the best teams in LaLiga SmartBank. In matchday 19, the team won again in El Alcoraz, thanks to a great game of the Azulgranas, who were ahead since the beginning against a brilliant Valladolid. Gaich’s and Miquel’s goals – in the first half – and Seoane’s – in the second 45 – made Real Valladolid Plata’s and Kike’s useless (3-2). The Oscenses now look up in the table thanks to the support of our home crowd. The good job done during the last weeks by Xisco’s men has born fruits in the shape of points.

We witnessed a vibrant start, with a home side that played with intensity against one of the best teams in LaLiga SmartBank. Gaich fired in the first place by exchanging passes with Nwakali, but Valladolid defenders were vigilant to clear the ball when the Argentine tried to shoot. We had a good feeling and the scoring would prove us right soon: in the 12th, Ratiu managed an individual play from the right wing and passed the ball low for Gaich, who controlled it with his back to the defence and brilliantly backheeled into the net. It was a thumping goal. The forward opened his account impressively. Soon after that, an active Nwakali assisted Seoane, who saw the space behind the back of the defence and was very close to score the second one of the evening. However, his shot was not accurate enough. With no time to regret, Ignasi Miquel headed a cross from ‘Seo’ to make it 2-0 after a corner. Real Valladolid tried to row upstream and had some chances. The clearest was in the 34th, when they made Andrés Fernández pull off a miraculous double save to keep the distance. A little earlier, Andrés himself had denied Joaquín following a corner. The score would not change before the interval.

The restart began with a couple of shots from Nwakali – the second one was very powerful but went wide. Salvador had to leave the pitch due to injury problems and it was Mikel Rico who came off the bench. The clash seemed to be under control, but any detail could make Valladolid reply, and so it happened: Sergio León slipped inside the box and the ball landed in front of Plano, whose shot was cleared by Andrés, but Plata made the most of the rebound in the six-yard box (2-1). Escriche came on in place of our no.18, as Xisco noticed that the match was in a dramatic decisive stage. Yet with no dangerous moments, Pacheta’s side did make the home team nervous whenever they approached the rival box. Ratiu, who suffered injury problems, left the pitch, too. The last home goal came in the 79th: Escriche won the ball back magnificently in the midfield and gave it to Seoane, who ran to the area and found the back of the net. Despite Kike’s goal in the injury time, the three points were ours.
