Cuco: “It’s a tough rival but we’re confident in our own strengths”

“We’re focused to play a good game so that our crowd see us and feel proud,” commented the SD Huesca manager on the eve of our LaLiga game against Levante

“We’re proud of defending these colours and representing Huesca. We’re focused to play a good game so that our crowd see us and feel proud,” commented the manager during their stay in Valencia ahead of the game against Levante UD tomorrow.

During the week the people of Huesca are celebrating the feast of San Lorenzo, the patron saint of the city, Ziganda recalled our fans. “People in Huesca commemorate San Lorenzo, but we need to prepare this game as good as possible and make a good start. Hopefully, we’ll delight our city and our crowd,” he added.

LaLiga opener will see SD Huesca take on Levante UD at Ciutat de València, one of the top dogs in the competition. “It’s a high-paced team with very good and physical players, so we’ll be met with a monumental first hurdle. We expect them to be focused and motivated at home, tough and intense. We know they’ll demand a great game from us, but we’re confident in our own strengths,” said Ziganda.

Asked about his side’s form, the manager assured that during the pre-season “they’ve worked hard and they’ve created a positive atmosphere. Some players have arrived later and still need to settle a little bit, but they can play anyway.” Besides, he added, “in two or three months time, the team should be better than now, as we have many new players and a new coach.”

‘Cuco’ mentions “the defence” as an area to improve. “In the attacking play we’ve been quite good in the pre-season. However, we’ve found it harder in defence. Now this is real life and this is competition, so we must be able to play with the same confidence in attack but to go a step further in defence, as we all know that a solid defence is the base for any team,” he concluded.
