The Azulgranas are held to a draw at Can Misses

The Azulgranas pick up one point in Ibiza, despite coming from behind in the first half thanks to goals from Obeng and Ratiu

SD Huesca let the triumph ‘escape’ away from home once again. It meant the Oscenses had to settle for a point in Ibiza but, having been so close to taking all three after coming from behind in the first half, it ultimately felt like a defeat for Ziganda’s side. Unfortunately, they kept the match alive and then the rival levelled matters, edging them, especially at the latter stages of the clash.

Early in the first half, the visitors struggled to feel comfortable at Can Misses, but their errors were severely punished when Ibiza took the lead just after 18 minutes. The goal came following a corner that hit the post in the first place only for Coke to catch the rebound to poke the ball in the net. There was a long way still to go, so Huesca stuck to their initial plan, looking to create danger on the counter-attack through Joaquin’s speed. That persistence finally told after 37 minutes, following a brilliant move constructed by our no.11 that allowed him to open for Obeng to strike past Fuzato to make it 1-1 in the island. After that, the hosts seemed to fight back, but Joaquin would ultimately gift us with one more work of genius to put his side ahead before the break. This time, an exquisite flick from the winger put Andrei in front of the goal to scoop it slightly into the net.

After the interval, Ziganda’s side suffered a setback, as Florian was forced off with injury, replaced by Vilarrasa. It wouldn’t be the only misfortune, as Ibiza would turn their pressure into an equaliser in the 68th minute after a collective play in which Cristian Herrera caught the Huesca defence sleeping with a shot past Andres. The draw gave hopes for a better result for the hosts in what became an end-to-end finale, with Ibiza remaining dangerous on the occasions they ventured forward. In the end, they were denied but the Oscenses’ winless streak away from home continues one more weekend.
