An impressive 11-match unbeaten streak. SD Huesca remain serious, sticking to the expected script with the same objective. After the leader’s visit to El Alcoraz, the aim is one step closer. Despite having very different aspirations, they proposed an open match, where feelings and statistics deemed the final point distribution fair.
Elady acted as the main reference up top for SD Huesca, and he fashioned the most dangerous opportunities before halftime. Leganes made a strong start to the game, approaching Alvaro’s goal, but Hidalgo’s men reacted quickly, with a shot from Elady going over the crossbar after a great combination on the right between Juanjo Nieto and Gerard Valentin. Elady was once again unable to hit the target with a corner taken by Oscar Sielva, just after the half-hour mark. These were the clearest chances for the Oscenses in a first half with even statistics, leaving the remaining 45 minutes wide open.
The tension increased after the interval, when SD Huesca came close to find the net with a double chance from a ball crossed from the right. Loureiro shot first and Kortajarena followed up on the rebound, but the goalkeeper saved both attempts just ten minutes into the second half. Hugo Vallejo’s shot also went over the bar after a good chance where Ivan Martos and Javi Martinez had previously sought a shooting position. The match opened up, as the pace increased when Hidalgo brought on Vilarrasa and Bolivar first, followed by Joaquin and Kento. However, they were unable change the score, in an ending where danger loomed over both penalty areas but did not translate into danger for either of the goalkeepers.
