There was only one option: to win. And SD Huesca succeeded. The clash at Lezama between SD Amorebieta and the Oscenses was between two sides in need of a win. And it was eventually the visitors who managed to edge the rival in what was their second victory away from home, the first one in LaLiga Hypermotion.
The visitors enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges, as Joaquin shot wide only after seven minutes. Javi Martinez did not shoot on target either some minutes later, when he ventured forward to power a shot from distance. Just after the half-hour mark Joaquin cleverly found Juanjo Nieto unmarked with a lofted through pass under the pouring rain at Lezama, but the keeper ran the fastest to repel the danger. Right before the break, Kento won the ball back in the midfield and Joaquin and Obeng combined quickly until the ball found the net after it hit a defender. However, Hidalgo’s team were on the wrong end of the VAR decision, as it was finally disallowed for a potential foul by Obeng. The Altoaragoneses needed to keep rowing, now that their efforts had not born fruit and the score was nil-nil again.
After the half-time SD Huesca went up a gear to win the ball back in a dangerous area of the pitch. Obeng managed to head a cross but it came to nothing. After that, Javi Martinez was very close to score the opener, finishing a counter-attack with a shot that went slightly wide after a defender touched it. Pulido headed the cross resulting from that corner and Seguin repelled it with his arm. The player Amorebieta player was shown the red card and Obeng converted the penalty to make it nil-one and put his side ahead. SD Amorebieta tried to push hard in the latter stages of the game, but a neat management of the final minutes by the Oscenses and our fine defenders were enough to keep it 0-1 until the end, sealing our second victory this week.
